St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people with a progressive illness. Our work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12.9m, of this 70% comes from the local community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

John was only 53 when he passed away. His kidney cancer was aggressive and unforgiving despite John fighting the whole time. Toward the end of his life he wanted two things. Firstly was to make sure myself and his daughters would be OK and secondly he wanted to get out of hospital and into the hospice.

If you have not experienced the care and support the hospice provide it can seem like a very negative word. Unfortunstely this us my third experience with the hospice and they are fantastic. They provided a calm pain free supportive non-hospital like environment for him to just spend his remaining  time with his family and friends. We stayed with him the night before he passed giving him comfort.

The hospice also provide day care support too allowing families a break from being carers and those attending vital emotional support.

Please rather than send flowers donate to my charities and make a difference to other families.
