Ben and I have decided to spend two weeks in September cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats - no 'uphill' jokes please. Apparently the wind will help us a little, and we need all the help we can get, given that our training regime has consisted of cycling from N16 to Chiswick a couple of times during the summer. We've been thinking about doing it for a while, and 2009 seems to be the year for it.

A number of people have asked whether we are looking for sponsorship. The honest answer is that we started planning this trip without sponsorship in mind, but equally, it seems a bit of a shame to miss the opportunity. I've chosen a charity called CLIC Sargent that cares for children with cancer. So if you think our efforts merit a small donation to the charity, that would be great but please don't feel in any way obliged.

We're off on September 5th from Land's End and hope to reach John O'Groats on September 19th. If anybody wants to tag along for any of the ride, or meet us along the way, we would love to see you.
