The Calvert Trust is there to help people with disabilities enjoy the outdoors. As most of you will know, my nephew Dan broke his back in a rugby accident in the autumn, so suddenly this became very personal for me. So I'm really keen to support the Calvert Trust help people like Dan continue to get the kind of pleasure out of visiting the Lake District that I've always enjoyed.

Anyone who knows me will hardly be surprised that I'm expecting that cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats (that's 1660.2km or 1031 miles in old money) in 12 days should be a whole lot more fun than going to work over the same period. But would you sponsor me for going to work...?
