As you'll have read on my blog (http://bigrideforcancerresearch.blogspot.com/) the idea is that I am riding the length of Britain, doing it from 'bottom right to top left' (Dungeness Point to Cape Wrath) rather than the conventional Land's End to John O Groats.  On the way, I'll be indulging my penchant for the less-visited, more unloved corners or the country and posting pictures and a fact or two about them.  If you find these electronic postcards interesting or entertaining - or if you don't but just feel charitable - perhaps you'd care to click the buttons here and make a contribution - say a quid a go, or so - to Cancer Research UK.  If you're on Vodafone, it's even easier; just text the code QCPB75 and '£1' (or whatever you want to donate) to 70070.

Like I say on my blog, this is as much enlightened self interest as it is charity.  If you haven't had a brush with the Big C yet, you've got a one in three chance of joining the club sooner or later.  And the work of CR UK is making it possible to pick up on it soon enough to do something about it and to make the treatment less sick-making, too.  

I benefited, so I'll start the ball rolling with a few quid.  (Can't really claim that having a jolly good bike ride and blathering about it on a blog is 'doing my bit' for anybody but myself, after all.)
