Story
Hi all. I've been in the Philippine's for six months now, and there's still a lot of work to do! So many people need help out here and it doesn't take much to do it. Each house we build for a family whose house was washed away in the Typhoon costs £1700 , yep! that's a house ! a traditional Bahay kubo, for the same amount of money as 425 pints or a flash tv . I'm trying to raise money to build houses !! the goal is 1.1million pesos, my share being 235 GBP but we wont stop if we get more and hopefully we will.
I know times are tough everywhere but believe me they are a wee bit tougher here, Insurance policies and nest funds are non existent and good, honest, intelligent, educated and proud people have been reduced to sleeping in tents and literally scraping by with little hope for the future. The Philippine people are one of the most resourceful , resilient and relentlessly happy folk I've ever met and they need our help!!
