Story
Hey!I'm sure many of you know that this October I am off to volunteer in Nepal for 6 months... given your help. Its a pretty scary prospect - no electricity or running water, strange food and most importantly a country with one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS levels in the world. The charity SPW Student Partnerships Worldwide aims to get young people to help raise awareness of hygiene, sanitation and importantly sexual reproductive health issues in rural Nepal. I am told that few if any of the local people will speak English so given a few months I will be able to give you all a lecture on the birds and the bees in Nepali!I'll be doing lots of other things as well, such as organizing sports events and community days, helping teach a few lessons and becoming part of a rural Nepalese community.I am personally investing a lot into this, through learning the language, fund raising and living far away from both the people I love and the western comforts I am used to. Those of you that know me well, will also be aware that this is something I feel very passionate about. I order to cover just part of the costs to send me out to Nepal and give me and the other volunteers the training we need to go into action I need to raise £3600 by October. I really believe the work SPW does on ground level makes a genuine difference,In return for your kind donations if you sponsor me a day(October through to March) I will happily write you a personalized postcard with what I got up too on said day. Thank you,J
