So it’s official I’m part of Team Stead. I’m joining in DecemBeard. From December 1st I’m growing a beard to raise money and awareness, and show my solidarity with a very good friend. 

Many of you know, that earlier this year I asked my very good friend Michael to be my best man at my wedding. In June he was at my house celebrating with my friends and family, his gorgeous wife and two year old son. Then a few months later he told me that his world was changing. In his words:

“Just over two months ago my life was turned upside down. Within a few weeks a suspected hernia diagnosis turned out to be cancer. Further investigations revealed I had bowel, liver and peritoneum (the abdominal membrane) cancer, with the news it was incurable. There are no words to describe the emotional rollercoaster that my family, close friends and so have been on, but the impact has been devastating on us all.” 

Any donation you can make, however small will be gratefully received by myself, Michael and the charity. Unfortunately you will have to look at me with a stupid Beard for a month but I’m sure it’s a price worth paying!
