Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My reason for raising money for Diabetes UK and my motivation for dragging my slightly overweight frame around a 10K course is my 4 year old son. At the age of 2 he was diagnosed as Type 1 diabetic and is insulin dependent for life.

My family and I are truly grateful for the help and support that we have received over the past 2 years shown to us by Diabetes UK and more specifically the Paediatric Team at Maidstone Hospital. This is my way of giving something back.

For me, blisters, aches and exhaustion is frankly a small and insignificant price to pay as I hope to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic charity.

In time, my blisters will heal, my aches will ease and my exhaustion will stop. Type 1 diabetes will not stop. It cannot be cured. But, with investment into research aided by fundraising, one day there might just be a cure. There might be an end to this horrible condition.
