Chicago Marathon 2009 · 11 October 2009 ·

The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation has two aims, the first to promote independent worldwide research into all aspects of prostate cancer; and the second to spread the crucial knowledge gathered from that research as far afield as possible, via an internationally recognised forum, attended by the world’s top prostate cancer experts. The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation is also the home of the Bob Monkhouse ‘Give a few bob’ campaign www.giveafewbob.org.

Story

Thank you for sponsoring me to run the Chicago Marathon on Sunday 11th October 2009.

I am running for Prostate Research - which is a charity that funds leading research into all aspects of the disease - investigating causes, methods of diagnosis, treatments and cures. In the UK alone, one man an hour dies of prostate cancer. It is almost as common as breast cancer, but it gets a fraction of the research funding.

I have a good friend whose father has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer and  I would like to support him, his family, and other people affected by the disease.

Thank you for your support!
