In January 2011 I was fortunate to be one of a small number of people to start a charity called Sussex 4x4 Response. We started small but now have well in excess of 100 volunteers, all of whom give their time and the use of their vehicle freely.

Sussex 4x4 Response provides emergency transport and logistics in times of adversity. We transport doctors, nurses and surgeons through snow and floods to enable them to perform their role, and recently have rescued several members of the public during the floods in Chichester and Bognor. We support the police, Search and Rescue teams, and councils, recently having been called upon by Hampshire Police to help get the Isle of Wight moving after the chaos at the Isle of Wight festival, and support our local community in any way we can.

I am raising money for this worthy cause to purchase vital and in some cases life saving equipment for use by our volunteers. Examples of such equipment that we have purchased recently include AED Defibrillators and Radio Communications Equipment.

I am also using this as personal motivation to 'get fit' and lose the extra pounds I have been carrying around the middle for the last years! Help motivate me!!!!
