<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 14.0px Arial;">I am about to embark on what, for me, will be an ambitious and energetic trek to the Annapurna region of Nepal and would like to take the opportunity of raising money for kidney research. I am therefore inviting you to help me achieve this ambition.</p>
<p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px;">I know from personal experience how important and effective such research can be as my wife Doris's life span was effectively doubled as a result of such research. A combination of long term dialysis and a kidney transplant which lasted over twenty years gave her a life we never imagined when kidney failure struck in her mid thirties.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 10.0px 15.0px; font: 14.0px Arial; color: #333233;">Sheffield Kidney Research Foundation plans to raise £1 million to support pioneer research into the study of the mechanisms involved in progressive kidney scarring. With this research it is hoped that a cure can ultimately be found. The money raised by the fund will provide a scientific infrastructure needed to establish the Sheffield Kidney Institute as a leading centre for fundamental laboratory and clinical investigation into kidney diseases.</p>
