Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be sailing, along with 7 other friends (median age 64) including two other members of the Vascular Society (Tom Carrell and Martin Thomas), across the Southern Ocean from The Falklands to South Georgia and will then be dragging sledges and skiing across South Georgia (the Shackleton Route) all in aid of the Circulation Foundation.

We will not, of course, be in an open boat and will be well supplied with modern equipment but we will, nevertheless, hope to retrace the steps of that epic journey.  The training should help us stave off peripheral arterial disease and, if all goes well, we may attempt an unclimbed peak.

The Circulation Foundation is the prime charity aiding research into all forms of circulation diseases (including aneurysms, strokes, blood supply to the legs and leg ulcers) and is, therefore, a perfect charity to support.

I am pleased to say that Rosie Thomas will be providing a blog for the Southern Ocean crossing and the Shackleton route traverse and this will be linked to the Circulation Foundation website so that you will be able to follow our stuttering progress.

This is an excellent opportunity to show your support for The Circulation Foundation.  Please help us support essential vascular research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
