Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are attempting to trek the Last Degree to the South Pole in December 2009. This involves flying by Ilyushin-76 and ski plane from Patagonia in Chile to degree 89 on Antarctica and skiing the remaining 60 nautical miles (about 72 miles) to the geographic South Pole with a 50kg sled. No dogs or motorised equipment are allowed and temperatures can drop to -40C. This ranks as a serious expedition, having only been completed by around 300 people previously. We have been training hard for several months, as best we can given the climatic differences between Abu Dhabi and Antarctica.
As on previous expeditions, we are hoping to raise money for Medecins sans Frontiers (or Doctors without Borders). Please give generously!
