Story

Our Dad was the most gentle, generous, kind, amazing man anyone could wish to meet. He had so many wonderful friends from all different parts of his life and was loved by all.

We couldn’t have had a better role model and we are forever grateful for his love, support, humour, advice, help, and everything in between.

After becoming unwell, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015. Following an operation to remove it, and a course of chemotherapy, Dad was able to go back to doing what he deserved. Making precious memories with his family and friends, enjoying life and doing what made him happy. What he managed to achieve in this time was incredible.

After finding cancer had returned in the scar tissue it has been a battle ever since. Dad has been so strong and put up an incredible fight but it finally got too much and he shut his eyes and said goodbye on the afternoon of Monday 7th October, 2019.

We are all so so sad - he’s left such a big hole in our family and lives, but we are taking comfort from the fact that he was at home with us, until the end.

Dad decided that he really wanted to make a difference and give something back. Following on from his ‘climb up the O2’ a few years ago, it was his wish that, in his memory, donations are made to this fantastic charity so they can keep up the groundbreaking work, helping people get diagnosed quicker, which would mean more successful treatment and longer to spend with their loved ones.

Thank you.

Marie, James, Lynn, Gareth, Sammy, Rich & all our family.
