We want to help a great charity raise much needed funds, and we also want to be a part of and help Team Maisie, doing the Three Peaks in 24 hours, the 'Three Peaks Challenge' -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Three_Peaks_Challenge.
This challenge is being done in the memory of a young lady called Maisie who had a massive impact on everyone who knew her. Maisie was a very vibrant and courageous young girl who was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive bone cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. In 2014 at 15 years of age she underwent intensive rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transplant at Ward C9 at Addenbrooks Hospital, Cambridge. This was all facilitated by Teenage Cancer Trust, who fund 28 specialist units across the UK and 48 specialist nurses and youth support co-ordinators. Sadly, 7 young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer EVERY DAY. In memory of Maisie, Team Maisie 100 are committed to fundraising for this amazing charity to help ensure that Teenage Cancer Trust can continue to support young people's lives. Without the support of the Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and youth support co-ordinators, the young people and their families would have no ray of sunlight.
This moving short film shows what help and comfort Teenage Cancer Trust can bring to a young person unfortunate enough to contract cancer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8gW7Nj8a10
