Hi Everyone

We - Nikki, Mark, Gemma and Stephen - will (attempt to) climb Mount Kilimanjaro this Christmas in memory of John to raise money for the two charities that were dearest to his heart. He always enjoyed a good walk and relished a challenge, so we thought that strolling up a 19,000 ft high mountain over 6 days and reaching the summit on New Years Day would be a fitting tribute to  his memory! It was John's positive attitude and vision which continues  to inspire us to try to make a difference.

The two charities are-

CAFOD - South Africa Candlelight Fund

A family holiday to South Africa really made us aware of the poverty and injustice experienced by the millions of people there. We aim to support projects such as Thandanani which trains local people to help support and care for vulnerable children and those orphaned by HIV and AIDS. To support CAFOD, please click 'donate now', and follow the instructions.

Alternatively:

The Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust

John died of a brain tumour in April this year and was keen to see further research into this rapidly growing form of cancer. SDBTT offers support to patients, families and carers, as well as conducting research into childhood and adult brain tumours. To make a donation to this charity, please go to www.justgiving.com/johndickenson and follow the instructions.

Donating through JustGiving is simple and once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Thank you for your generosity and God bless
