Story

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT. COMPLETED MARATHON IN BLISTERING HEAT IN 3 HOURS 42 MINS.

Guess what - marathon fever has struck me again..........I'm back again asking you to help me help Prostate Scotland. I need your cash and in return I get to do the fun bit....put on my running shoes and complete 26.2 miles.

This will be my 3rd marathon in 12 months and my second Edinburgh adventure and I have joined forces together with Prostate Scotland to raise invaluable funds to continue their excellent work.

Training is progressing to schedule despite a slight IT Band issue end of April, though with the help of my friend and Sports Injury Massage, Tommy Lawrence, now back up and running.....

Highlights of my training was running as 1.45 pace runner at this years Edinburgh Half Marathon ( April 2010) and the scenic and wind swept Edinburgh-North Berwick 20 mile road race where I finished in 89th position....

My Marathon stats 2009 - Edinburgh - May 2009 - Time 3 hours 46 minutes
                                              Loch Ness - November 2009 - 3 hours 23 minutes
Enough about me - .have a laugh on me in my running and workout video.......... and please do sponsor me to help Prostate Cancer research....

I appreciate I am asking you to Dig Deep again so a big thank you in advance from me and from Prostate Scotland - every penny does make a difference.

For all the latest news on my marathon training, highs and low, visit my Facebook blog.

Now the serious stuff.........

Prostate cancer is more common than you think - about 1 in 2 men will be affected by prostate disease during their lives - In Scotland 1 in 12 men will develop prostate cancer during their life.  More information  can be found on the charity's web-site. My family has been visited by this cancer three times - so for me its personal.

Along with your support again , we can help make a difference together with Prostate Scotland. Together, in 2009 we managed to raise £1200 for Prostate Scotland - so thank you to everybody who donated.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prostate Scotland gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So dig deep and please sponsor me now!
