This weekend I am attempting something well beyond anything I have tried before: climbing 4 of the classic Alpine Tour de France routes. Of course, there will be the added challenge of getting the fuel on board to make it up the mountains while managing my insulin input. Overdo the latter and it is all over. I am raising money for research into the causes, care and potential cure of the disease. - 100 amputations a week are caused by diabetes - all unnecessary - 1million people in the UK are blind because of diabetic retinopathy - their sight could have been saved. - 220,000 deaths a year from conorary heart disease and kidney disease, most caused by diabetes. Please support me and Diabetes UK. As a trustee, I commit to you that every penny donated will be invested in research. Thank you, it really is very much appreciated. John
