The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Last year when I set out to do Palace to Palace I had never cycled 45 miles and I ended up doing it in a reasonable time.

I snapped my ACL earlier this year, and a big part of the recovery from surgery was cycling, so now I have got marginally better and way overconfident when it comes to cycling based things....

To make this years P2P interesting, Richard Lamacraft and I have decided to do the 45 miles on a Boris Bike. They weigh 25KGS so twice my road bike and significantly more than a normal bike. They also only have 3 gears and a top speed of about 15mph. This will make getting up a hill impossible and anything other than a downhill a real chore. As if that wasn't tough enough, we have decided to do it dressed up like Boris Johnson - so full suit!!!

This madness is surely worth some of your hard earned cash. I am genuinely concerned about how I will manage this, not only because of the challenge, but also because Richard is a really good cyclist and will probably kill me if it takes up too much of his Sunday.

Thanks for reading and thanks for sponsoring me!!
