Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I started road riding in March this year, with a goal of simply getting fitter. As the year has gone on, my speed has increased and my fitness heading in the right direction - however ive never cycled more than 85miles in a day (and that day nearly killed me!).. I am to be riding the 5th stage of this event, from Haydock to Penrith, taking me 117miles through the beautiful (but hilly) Lake District, including over part of the dreaded Scarfell Pike pass. This will see me climb over 4500ft (more than the height of Ben Nevis), the worst part being that the main climb starts 82miles into the ride!!!!
The Ride Across Britain is an inspiring event, and i hope that after completing 1 section this year, I might be able to train hard and to enter the full 9 days next year!..1000miles, North to South, its something to aspire towards for my fitness.
All the donations that the Cisco riders raise are going to the British Paralympic Association which I believe is an extremely worthwhile charity, helping people with disabilities and life changing injuries to get back into sport.
