Place 2 Be is a children's mental health charity. It supports primary and secondary schools across the UK, as well as training mental health counsellors. They have supported in the last year alone 45,000 children dealing with bullying, self harm, depression, poverty and abuse.

- 1 in 8 children have a diagnosed mental health problem

- 50% of those with lifetime mental health problems first experience symptoms before age of 14

- amongst teenagers there is a 70% increase in anxiety and depression over recent years 

- poor mental health costs the NHS and society £105bn pa

Place 2 Be aims to provide support to children, knowing that if they receive support at an early age they are less likely to suffer serious mental health difficulties in later life.

Look at the statistics, do the maths, its simply a no brainer and with governments reducing funding, dealing with the outcomes not the root cause. We need to support charities like Place 2 Be who are trying to make a difference, and help at the start not when its too late.
