Survival of The Fittest · 2 October 2011

St Joseph's Hospice in Thornton, Merseyside, opened its doors in 1974 and has held a special place in the heart of our community ever since. Today, the hospice offers high-quality, professional end of life nursing care and family support services within a peaceful woodland environment.

Story

On the 2nd October, I have signed up to complete the Men's Health 'Survival of the Fittest' event, in Cardiff. A test of "stamina, grit, speed and guts": http://www.mhsurvival.co.uk

I am raising money for Jospice, a hospice in Liverpool which provides care and support to terminally ill people and their families.

Two of my grandparents (Nan and Gags aka Ronnie and Albert Cruikshank) received care from Jospice so it is a charity that is close to my family, even more so because my Nan worked in their shop and also had a 90th birthday party at their hall.

Recently, it was my Nan's two year anniversary, and as next year, Jospice will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, it's Golden Jubilee, I would be grateful if you could take time to sponsor me to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
