Wood Cycle Challenge Teesside 2 Edinburgh · 6 September 2019

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Hi,

on the 6th and 7th September, 6 of us will be riding from Seal Sands on Teesside to Bamburgh, (95 miles)and then Bamburgh to Edinburgh (85 miles) as part of a larger Wood team to raise funding for a much needed 20 bedroom extension for the Sue Ryder Dee View Court, The Extension will effectively double its capacity.

Sue Ryder runs a neurological care centre, Dee View Court, which is a purpose built specialist care centre for people aged 18 - 65 living with long-term and degenerative neurological conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Motor Neurone Disease and Huntington's as well as acquired brain injuries such as stroke and spinal injuries. With 24 spaces the waiting list is always full, and demand continues to grow. This is why, in 2017, Sue Ryder launched a 2-year £3.9m capital appeal to expand Dee View Court to create a further 20 bedrooms and double its capacity.
