THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT -
STILL ACCEPTING SPONSORSHIP AND DONATIONS
Every so often something happens that changes your life. This happened twice to us in the past 4 years. In the summer of 2006 Max, then 4 years old, was diagnosed with Leukaemia (ALL). Then 2 years later I (Jon) was also diagnosed with Leukaemia (AML). No connection just a crappy coincidence. On the face of it pretty devastating, but Max has now (late 2009) finished his treatment and is doing well, and I, following a bone marrow transplant in late 2010 - thanks to brother Nic - and I am also doing well so far.
As a celebration and to try and give a teeny bit back to the wonderful folks at the Newcastle hospitals who looked after us, we want to raise money for Leukaemia-Lymphoma Research (LLR). This is a really good cause and they have agreed to pass on half the money to specific Newcastle-based related charities; NECC (North East Children's Cancer. Research) and Bright Red.
So my friend Craig and myself will be walking the route August 30-September 12 and we are looking for your support - either sponsor us directly, or raise money yourselves to contribute. You may even want to join us for one or more stages, so we have put our itinerary up, including where we will be staying.
We have more information on our website.
