RESULT I have survived! Just got back, having overcome physical challenge, extreme weather, and yet another (the very last) demonic journey via United Airlines (avoid at any cost!). The photo below was taken on a ride 2 years ago from London to Paris with the same cycle4good charming nutters who have organised this particular ordeal. Best caption (donors only) gets a (full) bottle of exquisite Gigondas, if and when I return. 

5 days from Granada in Nicaragua, to San Jose in Costa Rica, with significant stretches off-road. Everyone asks about how far it is.. a  leisurely 204 miles, climbing over a not so leisurely12,400 feet.
