My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2010 my daughter was diagnosed with Addison's Disease.  This is a very rare condition in which the body can no longer produce the essential hormone, cortisol.  The condition is for life - there is no cure.  With medication and appropriate medical care, people with Addison's Disease can live a normal, active life.  The small charity ADSHG has been incredibly helpful in providing our family with information, support and advice.  They do so for thousands of people of all ages who are affected by Addison's.  They also work with the medical profession to promote better understanding of and treatment for the disease.  I am running the Edinburgh Marathon to help repay my gratitude to ADSHG and to help ensure the brilliant support that they provide remains available to all those with Addison's Disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please  donate now.

My updates 1

Many thanks for all the sponsorship received so far. It's much appreciated! Just over a month to go now and the training is going surprisingly well. I've been blessed with some great weather for the long runs which has helped keep the spirits up.
