Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Hello, me again.

On Sunday the 7th of October I am running the 'Destination Basingstoke' Half Marathon after a couple months resting my feet since the last event.

Training's going slowly but well, nearly in the last month countdown when things really start to heat up, if the last four weeks go well I hope to run this event in another personal best. Hopefully this time I won't start off on the day carrying another Injury and the weather is a little kinder than last year’s event!!

The Destination Basingstoke route is the hardest out of all the events I have done so far, the first 8 miles are pretty much mostly uphill so it'll be a very tough day indeed. The last five miles are rewarding though as you’re treated to great views of the town from up in the hills so it’s worth it. They even give out free Banana’s at the finish line! (well worth the 13 miles to get to that stage)

This year I am running for the Sue Ryder, a charity that describes itself as “providing provides compassionate care to people with end of life and long term needs” which I can vouch for being accurate as they looked after my Gran in her final days and a Charity that's remained in my thoughts and thanks ever since.

Hope to raise them some money so show some gratitude.

If you’re able to spare some money please do so, it’s for a great cause. No matter the amount of donation it’s greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Jon
