My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On June 30th, we (Jon & Lynn) will be walking a section of the Cornwall Coastal Path.
Pendeen Watch to the Minack Theatre at Porthcurno is a 15.6 mile walk along the beautiful but rugged coastline passing around Lands' End.
We have visited ShelterBox at their Helston H.Q. and and can see that they make a real difference for desparate people who have lost everything including hope following natural disasters. We would like your sponsor money to help with the re-stocking needed so that Shelterbox are ready when the next emergency strikes.
ShelterBox relies entirely on donations to make their work possible.
£590 will allow ShelterBox to deliver an emergency shelter and other lifesaving equipment to a family or group of upto ten people who have lost everything following a disaster.
So please dig deep and donate now.
My updates 4
The walk was delayed til Sunday as one of the Rotarians we were accompanying was injured. We set off at 08:30 from Pendeen Lighthouse and reached Porthcurnoe in 7hrs 11 minutes walking time plus about twenty minutes stoppages. Over 3,400 feet climbed during the 15.66 miles.
Two days to recover from our colds before the big walk on Saturday. Forecast is for showers and sunny intervals. Thank you so much everyone who has donated online and in person (over 40 people).
We walked over seven miles on Saturday as a half distance practice for the 30th of june. A few aches but so far so good. Thank you everyone that has pledged so far, jus a few friends and family remaining to still ask now.
A huge thank you to the nineteen other pledges of sponsorship received off line so far. Just three weeks left until we endeavour to survive the elements and the coastal terrain - It promises to be a great day out (followed by a good day in to recover).
