I will try to keep this brief. I suffered quite badly from Ulcerative Colitis for about two years and was largely housebound. I had surgery in 2012 to improve my quality of life. I want to take part in things like the London Walk organised by Crohn's and Colits UK so I can raise some money for a good cause and because something as simple or easy as a walk would have been impossible for me to do before I had surgery.

Crohn's and Colits UK exists to improve life for people affected by inflammatory bowel diseases or IBD. Crohn's and Colits are two of the main IBDs. Around 240,000 people in the UK have IBD - 1 person in 250. IBD can strike at any age but children and young people are most at risk. The impact on education, work, social and family life can be devastating.
