Story

Thanks for coming to look at my page!

Today (November 23rd 2009) I am over 18 stone and my exercise regime has obviously been severely lacking. Despite this I have signed up to cycle nearly 500Km from London to Paris in May next year to raise charity for the Alder Hey Imagine appeal.

Alder Hey is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, providing care for over 200,000 children each year. In addition to the hospital site, they are present at more than 40 community outreach sites and programmes and their consultants hold 800 clinic sessions each year from Cumbria to Shropshire, helping deliver care closer to home.

IMAGINE is the name of Alder Hey's charity, a fundraising campaign that helps them to continue their pioneering work, to develop facilities and to offer the very highest standards of care to their young patients. Every donation they receive helps them to achieve even more to improve the quality of life for children in hospital. From researching medical conditions to buying vital equipment, to building a better environment and providing support for patients and their families.

Raising £1300 is going to be a real challenge, but there again so is cycling 500Km in 4 days! (well for me anyway). I am going to commit to training and dieting over the next 6 months to achieve this. Donations that come in during that time will certainly help me with my commitment and every donation will be very much appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
