Story
SHINE was founded 10 years ago in March 1999. Their mission is to support additional educational initiatives which encourage children and young people to raise their achievement levels. They fund organisations working with underachieving 6-18 year olds from disadvantaged areas in London and Manchester.
SHINE provides additional support and tutelage to disadvantaged children in key areas such as literacy, IT, maths and science whilst also building on foundation social skills and confidence. This aims to accelerate and compliment classroom learning.
SHINE is a relatively young charity but manages to help over 2000 underacheivers a year - so any contributions, however small, would be extremely useful.
