Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 16th October, I'm running the 2011 FC United minithon and would be very grateful if you would sponsor me.
Half of the money raised will go to ACE Centre North. ACE Centre North's speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and occupational therapists work across the north of England to enable children, young people and adults with severe and complex communication difficulties to communicate effectively and "have a voice".
More information about ACE Centre North is available at;
Three supporter owned clubs are taking part in the event; FC United of Manchester, Rochdale Hornets and the Stockport County Supporters Cooperative.
As a supporter and co-owner of FC United, the other half of any sponsorship that I raise will go to support the extensive community work carried out by FC United and also to raise funds for the club's proposed new ground in Moston, north east Manchester. We don't have a multi-millionaire benefactor. Every penny raised towards the estimated £3.5m cost of our new home comes from fund raising events like this, the community shares scheme, grants from funding bodies like Sport England and assistance from Manchester City Council. No football club has attempted to finance the building of a new ground in this way before. If we are successful then it will truly be ground breaking stuff (excuse the pun).
For more information about FC United's work in the community please see;

If you could spare a few quid to support these two great causes then I would be very grateful. Thanks for your support.
