Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

This fatal disease (aka ALS) has unfortunately directly impacted on one of our senior long time employees and so MNDA was the only choice for our charity this year.

A team of 6 from HF are taking part in this 54 mile event, none of us with any previous cycling experience, or even general fitness!

MNDA were instrumental in getting Merton NHS to fund care without the need for onerous application forms or attending ATOS/Capita assessments. A senior MNDA employee (previously CEO of Merton Citizens Advice) helped obtain further support from Merton NHS which allowed up to 10 carers over a week.

In 2017 the MNDA paid £929,000 to Kings College for their MND Care Centre and Research Centre meaning expensive equipment was available to those that need it: Electric MND wheelchair with foot and head controls (£7,000), Eye recognition computer (£9,000), Alternating air cell bed (£2,500).
