London 2 Paris: Inspiring the Revolution 2016 · 19 May 2016 to 23 May 2016 ·

With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

In 2007 I participated in my first Charity bike ride. I really didn't know what to expect but I got the cycling bug. Over the next four years I cycled to Reims, Aachen , rode stage 5 of the 2011 Tour de France, raising close on £20,000 for the National Autistic Society (my son, Joe, is on the autistic spectrum and attends the NAS Helen Allison School)

The other cause that I have supported is Leukaemia Research. In 2000 my wife Karen was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. She was  fortunate to be accepted onto a drug trial at the Hammersmith Hospital and thanks to the fantastic work of the team there has been in remission since 2002 ,through the use of a drug called Glivec.   So about time to raise some funds that will materially improve patient outcomes and defeat this life threatening condition!!

All the costs of the trip have been paid for so that every pound donated will go towards the Charity. Please do support me and the charity - donations of any size gratefully appreciated.
