Meadowhall to Paris · 23 July 2014

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having only taken up road cycling last year, I've taken on a couple of sizable challenges this Summer.  At the end of June I'm fortunate enough to be heading off to Mt Ventoux in the French Alps with a number of fellow cyclists from the Personal Injury world.  Premex have very kindly organised the event to raise money for two charities, The Wooden Spoon and Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.  The main ride is 132km, but includes a 22km relentless climb up to the infamous summit of Mt Ventoux.

At the end of July I am riding with 20 or so others from Meadowhall in Sheffield to Paris in 4 days.  The route will see us go from Sheffield to Banbury on day one and then from there to Portsmouth day two.  Day three is a rest day (well sort of), we get the ferry in the morning but need to do 70 miles in the afternoon.  Then 80 to finish on day 4, getting us into Paris the day before the Tour arrives.

I enjoy cycling very much although I'm hardly a fitness fanatic - I am expecting both of these challenge to hurt... a lot and so I would be very grateful if you could dig deep and donate what you can.  I am riding for St Lukes Hospice in Sheffield, an incredible place with incredible people who care for adults in the Sheffield area of all ages, suffering with life limiting illnesses.
