Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided to create this page for people to donate to Cancer Research UK. I applied for the triathlon on the 27th of April, so this maybe a bit last minute, but i will share my story with you.

My family has not had the best luck with Cancer including my own mum who has fought cancer and beat it. However some of my other family members have not been so lucky.

My auntie Catherine High is dearly missed by my entire family, was misdiagnosed by Doctors three times, by then it was too late and it was a very scary experience. The image is Catherine with her husband and only daughter who i still look after as best i can. It was the saddest day of my life. I have never cried so much in my life than on that day.

My Great Grandad Rackham, although i didnt know him that well  as i was relatively young when he was alive, fought bravely in WW2 but had a long life after that, however was diagnosed with Cancer and later died in 1999.

My Grandma Layfield, although a step relative, i still love her and appreciate her in my life. Currently she has Cancer of the bladder. This was diagnosed earlier in April 2014.

And finally Hannah Copnall, although our relationship is somewhat rocky and difficult I have always looked after her as best i could. She had cancer when she was very young which led to a number of health issues. However knowing that she is upset with me or me with her, i still love her, so i am racing for her as well.

But, I never forget the happiness and laughter all these people give to me and have given. I am very happy to have known them and i will continue to love and care for them, even if they are gone.

Please also donate with a smile on your face. :)
