Hi, my name is Jonty and on the 7th November 2010 I will be running 26.219 miles around the streets of New York for Action for Kids. I hope that in doing so I can raise lots money to help the people that work so hard for the disabled young people. Please take some time to check out the AFK website to see the kind of work they do because I cannot do it justice in 1 small paragraph, however I will give a very brief outline.
Action For Kids (AFK) is national charity working on 3 fronts. Firstly to provide mobility and independence to children and young people through the supply of wheelchairs and other equipment that is not available through the NHS. Secondly AFK support the families and careers of disabled people by providing advice and support when it is needed and thirdly AFK run a work related learning program that empowers young people by giving them a chance in the workplace.
