Story
In May this year we are running the Great Manchester 10k in memory of my friend Gemma's mum Sandra Torkington, who lost her fight with blood cancer earlier this year. Specifically we are raising money for the ward in which Sandra was cared for in the last months of her life, as their specialist equipment made the entire family's lives easier in a very difficult time. Their 'lazyboy' chair made it possible for Sandra to have increased mobility and prevent her from being bed-ridden but unfortunately the hospital only has one of these chairs.
Having this equipment made such a difference and Gemma really wants other families to be able to benefit from it, so we are raising money to buy more of these chairs for Oldham Royal Hospital. Each chair costs over £800 but we are hoping to be able to buy as many as possible. Please dig deep and donate to a great cause and the memory of a special person who fought to the end.
