Story
Update: I finished the London Marathon on the 22nd April 2012 in 5 hours, 12 minutes and 5 seconds. It wasn't the fastest time in the world, but given all my injury concerns and the fact that I've never been an amazing runner, I was really pleased just to get to the finish line without walking. I genuinely had a really good time running the marathon, and can't thank you enough if you sponsored me!
Two weeks later: I'm happy to say that I can walk in much the same way as I could before the marathon.
Original story: In an effort to do something worthwhile with my life, I've (foolishly and naively) decided to run the London Marathon with my housemate Josh. As most of you probably know, I've got a hearing impairment, and so we're running for a charity called Sense, which supports children and adults who are deaf and blind. Although I've had a great life and loads of opportunities, there are people out there with disabilities who don't, and so Sense provides those who are deaf and blind with support and opportunities that they otherwise wouldn't have.
I have to raise £1500, so (although I hate asking) I'd really appreciate it if you donate any amount of money - great or small - to support a top cause. And if you know anyone else who you think might donate then give them a shout. If you do, I'll potentially love you forever. And I'll buy you a drink.
Thanks very much!
Joe
