The Ear Foundation helped fund the first cochlear implants for deaf children in the UK. We now support children, young people & adults who use a variety of modern hearing technologies. Offering independent advice & activites to bridge the gap between clinics where they're fitted and home where used.

Story

Joseph is walking 7 miles up Snowdon North Wales on 28th July, on behalf of the Ear Foundation.

We want to support the work of The Ear Foundation as it:- provides a bridge between the clinical services where these modern hearing technologies are fitted and home, school and work where they are used. They provide:

Our Family Programme: Connect & Communicate in Marjorie Sherman House

Our Continuing Education Programme in Nottingham, throughout the UK, internationally and on the web

Our Sound Advice Programme helping to make the most of the technology

Our Advocacy and Lobbying Programme supporting access to the use of appropriate hearing technologies for all who need them

Our Family and User-led Research Programme providing evidence-base from our activities

Joseph Story

Joseph was born profoundly deaf. He was fitted with hearing aids from 8 weeks old. But as he got older we realised that he just was not getting enough from the hearing aids. We had to make the difficult descision in going for an operation and Joseph having a cochlear implant fitted. It has been 18 months since Joseph first implant and last Nov he went for his second implant as he was getting so much from it. With the success of the implants Joseph is doing very well in main stream school he is a happy and confident little boy thanks to cochlear implants. So please dig deep and donate now, and A BIG THANK YOU FROM JOSEPH and HIS FAMILY.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
