Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Joes’ JustGiving page.

At 87 years old Joe has already lived a challenging life full of joy, love and sadness.  Joe lost his wife in his 60’s to cancer but with pure determination, strength and love from his family and friends he has continued to strive on. With 5 devoted children of his own, 8 loving grandchildren and 7 adoring great grandchildren Joe is a much treasured and doted dad, granddad and great granddad not forgetting the fittest of all his family.

After watching his granddaughter take the challenge of tandem skydiving last year Joe told his family he too wanted to do it.  This didn’t completely shock his family as Joe is known for his love of aeroplanes and being an adrenaline junky.  A few years ago after taking to the sky in a glider his came back down to say “It was ok, but boring! Would have been better if I was wing walking!”

Joe will be free falling @ 120mph from 13000ft to then have the parachute deployed at 5000ft on Saturday 5th June 2010, 12:30pm  @ Hinton Skydiving Centre, Brackley, Northamptonshire  and invites all family and friends who would like to watch to join him.  You can get more information at http://www.skydive.co.uk or contact Sharon or Chris for further details.

Joe is completing his challenge of a lifetime and in doing so raising money for two charities; Epilepsy Action and Kidney Research UK.  These charities are close to Joe as his great Grandson Louis (pictured with his granddad above) was diagnosed with epilepsy after contracting meningitis in 2008 and his granddaughter Tracey who underwent a kidney transplant over 10 years ago from a donated kidney from her mother.

Please note that this webpage is for donations to Epilepsy Action only and if you wish to donate to Kidney Research (as well) then visit www.justgiving.com/JosephGreenKidney or please contact Sharon or Chris for details who also have paper sponsor forms if you do not like to donate online.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - Joe raises more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
