Story

PLEASE HELP ME FUND A CAMEL SAFARI

I am planning to visit Kenya from July to September 2010 and will be working as a volunteer. I have saved enough money for all of my expenses to travel there and stay. I am now looking to raise money to help this worthwhile organisation. All funds raised will go directly to the charity.

Because of the poor accessibilty of some of the remote areas of Kenya, the organisation uses camels to reach the people who live there. A fully funded one month camel safari is about £4000. I appreciate I may  not be successful in raising this amount of money but I hope between us we can make a real contribution towards one.

Brief information of what the organisation does is below. I would invite you to look at their website - www.mobileclinicsafrica.org

The unique model of sustainability has proven to be highly effective in the remote areas of Laikipia and Samburu regions in Kenya. This project model entails engaging the assistance of local people and relevant government ministries to provide health care to previously undeserved communities using integrated transport options such as vehicle, bicycle, foot and camel transport.
