Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

My first ever run was a Race for Life 5k in 2007. That day, 5k seemed impossible.  Like running from here to Australia.  Mile after mile, never ending.

It didn't start well.  I needed the toilet after 2k and my friends, who had arrived late, were speeding ahead of me.

I wondered if I should swallow my pride, squeeze my eyes shut and do a Paula Radcliffe, or just run into a bush and hide in there forever.

Now, a few years later, I've some how signed up for the London Marathon and am wishing, hoping, praying, I don't have to do a Paula.

I'm running in aid of Sense, a charity that supports children and adults who are deafblind.

Thank you for every penny donated.
