My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Both of us ran our 'socks off' in 2011. Participating in the Bath Half Marathon, the Southend Half Marathon, The British 10k, Great South Run, Run to the Beat and the Edinburgh Marathon to name but a few! We ran a race a month throughout the year, and because we enjoyed the challenge so much, we have decided to keep running races throughout 2012, including the Canterbury 10 Miler and the Brighton Marathon, as well as some favourite races from last year. We are also setting ourselves an additional challenge to run a total of 2012 miles throughout this year! But its not all about fun and there's a very serious reason why we do this........
We are raising as much money as we can for MRSA Action UK, a small charity raising awareness of the devastating effects of hospital acquired infections and so called 'superbugs' such as MRSA.
Steve's Dad, Don, died after contracting MRSA whilst in theatre during a knee operation and so we know, first hand, how important it is to campaign for safer standards in our hospitals.

The first 4 months of the year have seen a 10k in the London Docklands, half marathons in Canterbury and Bath and a full marathon in Brighton 'race' by! There's still more in the tank and as long as our legs can stand the pace we'll keep on running......

MRSA Action UK is an organisation run by volunteers supporting people affected by MRSA and other healthcare associated infections. Its work involves raising awareness through supporting training programmes and providing literature and an online resource for patients, the public and care providers.
