On the weekend of 22nd and 23rd September, Hector and I will be taking part in the Hampton/Lady Eleanor Holles charity River Row. Hector will be rowing both days, covering the 80 miles from Abingdon, near Oxford, to the Hampton boathouse in Sunbury. I will be helping out with the catering on the Saturday, so ‘only’ have 40 miles to get through on the Sunday!

I have been training over the summer with the other parents who are taking part. I think we’ve all realised that rowing is not as easy as it looks! It has, however, been a lot of fun and the sore muscles and blistered hands will be worth it for the sense of achievement and, of course, for the money that we hope to raise for the Shooting Star Chase children’s hospice.
