My story

Hi everybody:

 

I ran my first ever half marathon (the Royal Parks Half in London) on Sunday 9th October in aid of Doctors of the World.

 

My time was 2 dehydrated hours, 17 horrendous minutes, and 39 elated seconds!

 

Would you be kind enough to sponsor me for my pains and help support an excellent cause...?

 

Doctors of the World is an international humanitarian aid organisation that provides medical care for vulnerable people who’ve suffered famine, disease, disasters or war. DOW works in over 65 countries to provide free access to healthcare, including here in London, where DOW operates a free medical clinic, providing temporary care for some of the city’s most vulnerable, and helping them to register with GP surgeries on the NHS,  (oftentimes a tall order for refugees and asylum seekers).

 

Here’s an example of DOW’s work on HIV/AIDS in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where Human Rights Watch estimates that over 300 000 women were raped during the most recent Congolese war.
