Bad things happen to other people....but this time it was us...

In July this year tragedy struck our family. We lost our dear Josh - son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend. He meant so much to so many people.  Josh took his own life without any warning. The shock of this will stay with us all for the rest of our lives. The life he will no longer share with us - the beautiful experiences we know were waiting for him, the opportunities that would surely have come his way. If only we had known, if only we could have helped Josh with this silent depression that was eating away at him. We would have said "hey Josh its going to be okay, this is just a difficult, dark time and good times will be ahead....hold on, we're with you, we will hold your hand and help you through...you will have a happy life ahead of you..."

There are many young people like Josh who don't know how to engage and discuss what is wrong... sometimes they just cant discuss such deep, dark, inexplicable feelings. So please support the charity Mind who want to help people like Josh to stop and think for just that bit longer, provide somewhere to go with those fears, provide someone to speak to in desperate times. It is too late for my beautiful nephew Josh but it could be enough to save someone you know.
