Story

So...Take 2...!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As I'm sure you will know, unfortunately due to a knee injury one week prior to last year's Marathon, I was unable to take part. Following an arthroscopy , physio etc and 4 months of day timeTV(!) my knee is now fully recovered and I am fortunate to have been asked once again to represent and support British Blind Sport in memory of Dad.

Last year I raised a total of £2139.00 for which I say a big thank you again to those who supported me.

This year I would love to raise as much as I can to add to the existing amount especially with the Paralympics coming up in 2012. I have chosen to run the London Marathon in memory of my Dad who passionately supported British Blind Sport. He became involved with the charity whist he was Master and Almoner of 'The Worshipful Company of Fletchers' and had already been involved with preparations and planning for 2012 Games.

British Blind Sport facilitates blind and visually impaired children and adults to have the same opportunities as sighted people, enabling them to take part in and enjoy sport and recreational activities. Eyesight is a sense we all too often take for granted.

For those of you who know me you'll realise this is an ambitious challenge! I've always thought I'd look good in a silver foil poncho but possibly not after sweating it out for 26.2 miles!!! I have seven months of gruelling and painful training ahead so please support me!!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
