Story
Well , I did it. It took me 63 mins which I am very happy with considering I didn't do as much training as I thought I would when I committed to do this back in January. Thanks for all you support and generosity. It is unbelievable that I had to amend my target twice and still surpassed the £1500.
On December 11th last year Lee Johnson - my nephew, godson and friend - had had a good day. He had attended an interview to coach football in the USA , Leeds United had won and he had a fun evening out with his friends. He went to bed a happy lad. Lee suffered from Epilepsy - something only his family and close friends were aware of - he had a seizure in his sleep. He never woke up the next morning. He was 24.
We never knew Epilepsy was a killer but now we know different.
This tradgedy will affect the family for all our lives. More research needs to be performed so we may try to determine what causes the seizures and how they can be controlled - or stopped.
I am running the Manchester 10k with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Epilepsy Research - http://www.epilepsyresearch.org.uk/ - please give generously.
One further comment - Lee received an email 4 days after he died offering him the coaching job in the America - something he had always dreamed of but will never be abe to fulfill.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The support I have received so far have been nothing short of fantastic. I set my first taget at £500, then I increased it to £750. You have blown these apart within 2 weeks of me setting up the page. So I have increased it again to £1500 - lets really go for it. Thank for all you help.
