Thales Route 47 Celtic Trail Cycle Event · 1 July 2016 to 3 July 2016 ·
Dear friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, and people I've never met before!
On 1-3 July, I will be taking part in my company's (Thales) charity bike ride challenge for Prostate Cancer UK. This will be an epic 3-day, 365km trek from Aberporth on the western coast of Wales, across the Brecon Beacons, through the West Country and ending at Weybridge, just inside of the M25 boundary. Please help me to raise at least my individual target of £900 to help fight prostate cancer!
As if this wasn’t challenging enough already, I will be doing this on a
single speed bike – no gears, just pure pedal power!
So why am I doing this? Because prostate cancer is the UK's most common cancer in men (25% of all male cancer diagnoses) and the second most common cause of death by cancer in men in the UK (after lung cancer). In 2016, one man every hour will die from prostate cancer in the UK. That’s almost 10,900 men this year.
Prostate Cancer UK's current campaign is to tame prostate cancer within the next 10 years by working with organisations worldwide to provide better diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support.
Please support me in fundraising for this very worthwhile charity so that we can beat prostate cancer together. All you need to do is make a few button clicks to make a donation so that I will have that extra bit of motivation to peddle hard across the country! And please PLEASE remember to tick the "Gift Aid" box when making your donation - this is a tax relief scheme and means that your donation will be automatically worth 25% more at no additional cost to you! All donations made go directly to Prostate Cancer UK.
Thank you.
